Eric Stewart

PT, DPT

Eric Stewart, PT, DPT, is Assistant Professor at the University of Delaware and coordinator for acute care clinical education experiences. His focused areas of teaching include acute care and cardiopulmonary physical therapy. He received his B.S. in Athletic Training from Ithaca College and his MSPT and DPT from Utica College. His clinical expertise resides in the acute care setting with a focus on patients with critical illness, and his publications and presentations primarily focus on acute care practice, interprofessional education, and innovations in clinical education. In 2008, he was awarded the American Physical Therapy Association’s Emerging Leader Award. Dr. Stewart also became a credentialed clinical instructor trainer for the American Physical Therapy Association in 2017. He is a past member of the Acute Care Section’s Entry Level Skills Task Force and is co-author of the manuscript entitled “Defining Entry-Level Practice in Acute Care Physical Therapy Practice” that was published in 2017 in the Journal of Acute Care Physical Therapy.
